How-to Manual Guide for Virtual Accounts

This manual provides a guide and explanation to Sparkle’s virtual account.



Accounts


1. Create a virtual account. 


To create a virtual account, click on the create a virtual account button.

You can now add the Customer name (your business or your preferred name for the payment), Email Address (your business or your preferred email), Contact Phone number (your phone number), Bank Verification Number, Account Type, Expiry Date (if it is a temporary virtual account). You can decide to make your virtual account either temporary or permanent.


A temporary virtual account lasts for a fixed amount of time that you can set when provisioning the account while a permanent virtual account lasts for as long as you want it to until you deactivate it.



There, you are done setting up your account and invited members in your team. You have now created your first few virtual accounts, temporary or permanent and are now collecting money.


You can now get more oversight and information on how your business is performing with the next two features. Our overview and insight’s features.


this shows an overview of the main/key activities on your sparkle business account.


Here in accounts, you can;


A. View your settlement account

B. You can also export all the accounts you create as a CSV document



2. View all Virtual accounts created 



3. View customers that have paid to any of the virtual accounts here. you can also sort your virtual account list, from the oldest to the newest account. 





Insight

This shows a graphical value representation of payments by value and volume over time.


You can toggle between volume and value, and you can also change the view from today, week, months and an all-time view.


 



Transactions

This shows all the entire payment information records made on your SparklePlus account.


You can download a statement of all the transactions happening in your dashboard.


You can also toggle between transactions that happen today, weekly, monthly and also across all time.





Settlements

This shows all settlement activities to your holding or settlement account.


You can filter the settlement list to find a settlement easily. you can also export the list of your settlements as a .csv document.





Transfers

Here is where you make all your transfers, or payments to/from other accounts.


You can also export the records here in form of a .csv document.



To make a transfer, click on the “make a transfer” button.


Fill the Account Information with Account to debit (usually prefilled with your settlement account), Amount, Narration and then you can also see your Available Balance before the transaction.


now input your Beneficiaries Information. this includes, Select Bank, Bank Account Number, Account Name. Finally input your Password and click on the make a transfer button.

Settings

This houses all your profile info of your Sparkle Plus account.

Here you can edit your personal profile, your business profile, add/remove and manage user permissions, and also update your password.


1. Personal profile.

Click on any of the fields present in this page to make any changes, then click on the save changes button when you’re done.



2. Business profile 


Click on any of the fields present in this page to make any changes and click on the save changes button when you’re done.



3. Add, remove user and manage permissions. 


Here, you can add new users to your Virtual account dashboard. As a default, your profile as the account creator is set as the super admin but you can also transfer this role here. All you have to do is click on the view button on the Super Admin profile, make all the changes you require and click on the save changes button. 


PS: Users on the super admin profile have full overview and control of the VA dashboard. also, there can only be one super admin on a virtual account profile. 

To add a new user, click on the Create button under the add a new admin card. input the user’s First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number and select an Access Control.   

You can choose between, Super admin, Administrator and Standard user. as you select these profiles, you can see a check box underneath the selection showing you what the users can and cannot do.



4. Update your password.  


Here you can change the password to your virtual account dashboard. 




Developer


Here is where you can find the necessary client and secret keys needed when embedding up a payment widget or page for your business.

Through APIs integrations to business’ portals/mobile apps businesses will be able to

  • Create virtual accounts per customer, as in create a virtual account for each of their customers
    • Accounts can be either permanent
    • Accounts can be temporary, with an expiration date set
